Pearls, Pearls, and more Pearls! I am extremely excited to see this trend regaining respect. We equate Pearls to the Matriarchs of our families. The memories of our Grandmothers, Mothers and Aunties wearing strands of Pearls to Church on Sunday's are priceless.
They wore Pearls as a connection to femininity. A reminder of the Women they stand to be: the backbone of our families and communities. I enjoy witnessing a trend evolving in a new aged way and that’s exactly what Pearls are doing. They’ve reemerged in a prominent and well deserved space.

In 2024, Bangles are back bolder and better. When I think of bangles, I flash back to the 90’s and to LL Cool J song, “I need an around way girl, around the way girl, that’s the one for me”. In the 90’s, gold bangles were a fashion staple transforming in a variety of colorful shapes and sizes.
The "Bangle" bracelet quite possibly might be the most overlooked accessory. Wearing them is the best way to elevate any outfit day or night. We can wear one, two or three stacking them and creating an audacious look. Whatever you decide, an undeniable wrist story is sure to come alive.

My numero uno trending accessory is the Statement Ring. Let’s just say, I am a ring gal. I do not discriminate, all fingers are treated equally: pointer, index, middle, and always, always a pinky, thus far - never the thumb. The statement ring adorned the runways with a vibe of sophistication and elegance only "it" could provide.
Do you know what I appreciate about a statement ring? It's not the size, more the uniqueness of the design that qualifies the ring to make a statement. Also, you'll never feel unpolished even if it’s the only accessory choice of the moment.

If I told you, Hot Collars have been named a trending accessory of 2024 what would you say? More than likely, what is a Hot Collar? The fashion industry decided to reintroduce us to a 90’s trend, Choker Necklace. I can’t tell you how much I fancied this trend!
In the late 90’s, I was a VIP guest at a party in New York City and wore: Black leather pant, White leather shirt, a Chocolate Brown leather croc embossed, pointed-toe bootie (kill a roach in the corner pointed-toe) with a Black leather rope Choker to polish off the look. I’m telling you, you couldn’t tell me nothing. Today, that look would be welcoming as Hot Collars, Chokers are bringing sexy back!

This next trend may not settle well with everyone, yet fashionistas will welcome the imperfection of the Mismatched trend. Yes, I said - Mismatched. The runways of 2023, granted us permission to create and wear an imbalanced earring set. I must say, this trend has me excited! It’s different. Unlike what we’re accustomed too.
The earring becomes the focal point of the look. What's great about this trend is we can utilize what we have. Yes, mix and match your earrings to create a unique style story. I have the utmost respect when a eccentric trend invades our space in a valuable way.

The jewelry trends of 2024 are bigger and better than ever. There’s no better way to say so than the welcoming of Bold Hoop Earrings. You guessed it, LL Cool J comes into play, yet again. “I want a girl with extension in her hair, bamboo earrings at least two pair”.
For us Gen X’ers, the late 80’s and early 90’s were our first intro to big hoop earrings. Well, the trend is back and the reinvention doesn’t stop at size; it's open and receptive to shapes and embellishments. Hoops are large and in charge and coming to us in a new age way.

I don’t know about you, but I am excited about these trends. It’s actually nostalgic. The Pearls gift me sweet memories. Bangles catapult me back to my youth. The Statement Ring reminds me of the woman I am today. Hot Collars, Chokers are reminiscent of my hot girl days.
The Mismatched trend is giving a sneak peek into the versatility that is me. What can I say, the Bold Hoop Earring reminds me how I had a “Fendi Bag and bad attitude”.
