MY TRUTH 

NAMAslay, ​ (the Divine in me greets the Divine in you.)

I’m Sherese! A bit "ABOUT ME" and not in any specific order: style aficionado, Taurus, rape and molestation survivor, spiritual being, fashion lover, gourmand, closet enthusiast and a Mother to a child with wings.  In 2006, my son and only child died in a car accident. The loss of DaShawn left me broken and devastated, but moreover without an identity.

The death of a child defies the nature order of life; as a single mother, the death of MY only child defied living.  Because I knew who I was when I was his mother - who would I be now?  With that awareness, I knowingly choose survival and embarked on an official journey of healing.

​

While working in finance and participating in therapy, I went back to school and earned a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management. I landed a paid internship at J.Crew as a Sales Associates. The joy received from pairing a classic white buttoned up with a Tulle shirt and Stan Smith Adidas topped with a statement necklace was climactic!  I still remember that moment, of feeling - better.

It was the beginning! At best, I discovered a unique piece of me. 

To quote my BFF, "You always had the pedigree, you just needed the degree".
